Pumpkin Patch
The Friends & Family of Plano FFA is sponsoring a pumpkin patch from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13 and Sunday, Oct. 14 in the south parking lot of the PISD Transportation Center (buses) on Alma Drive between Legacy and Spring Creek, across from the water towers.
They will be selling large-sized jack-o-lantern pumpkins to support PISD FFA students at the Collin County Junior Livestock Show in January 2008.

Town Hall Meeting called
At the Monday City Council meeting, it was announced that a town hall meeting has been scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10 at City Hall. The topic is the proposed movie theatre at the corner of FM 544 and North Maxwell Creek Road. The developer will give a presentation about the project and answer questions from residents.
Following the town hall meeting is a special Planning & Zoning Commission meeting. It is a kickoff for the updated Comprehensive Plan for the city of Murphy.

Crime Alert - Beware of police impersonator in Murphy
CRIME ALERT!
REF: POLICE IMPERSONATOR IN MURPHY
A 19-year old female was stopped earlier this morning at around 12:46 a.m. in the 200 block of Betsy Lane by a white male driving an unmarked white police sedan possibly a Ford Crown Victoria or Taurus. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a police type uniform. The suspect approached the female and stated, “step out of the car." The female told the suspect that she was calling 9-1-1. The suspect walked back to his car and sped westbound on Betsy Lane towards Plano. The female was unable to provide any other information.
The Murphy Police Department asks that all residents be aware of this incident. If you are ever stopped by an “unmarked” police vehicle proceed to a well-lit area, possibly a convenience store or a populated area, and call 9-1-1.

Voters in Precincts 25 who live in the Plano ISD vote at the Murphy Municipal Complex (206 N. Murphy Rd.) for both the city and PISD elections, including the constitutional amendment.
Voters in Precinct 144 who live in the Plano ISD will vote at Miller Elementary School (5651 Coventry Drive, Richardson) for both the city and PISD elections, including the constitutional amendment.
Voters living in the Wylie ISD will vote at Murphy Municipal Complex for the city election and at Sourthfork Mobile Home Park (216 Southfork Blvd) for the WISD election.
